Carol Keiser is a nationally known exhibiting artist who paints on both canvas and tile. She works in her Vermont studio creating rich and colorful images that include scenes of women at leisure, romantic couples, flowers, still life’s and landscapes. Her work shows influences from having lived in Mexico and visiting other places, like Italy and Costa Rica.
Carol will often use symbols in her work, like mountains, water, sun, moon and stars, sailboats and ladders, things that represent our natural world and our connection to the divine.
Each tile is designed and hand painted by Carol, using a palette of glaze colors and kiln-fired for permanence. The tiles can be installed in kitchens, bathrooms, spas, fireplace surrounds, or a single tile can be framed or unframed and enjoyed as a small work of art.
On her paintings, Carol says, “They are mostly about something that gave me a moment of pleasure and delight, like the sun falling on the kitchen table, a walk through an orchard, a corner of my studio, a dance, or a remembered moment. . . They are really a visual diary of my life and my response to the joy and beauty around me.”
Carol’s paintings and tile work have been exhibited in galleries in the United States and Mexico. She is a member of the Vermont State Craft Centers, The New Hampshire League of Arts and Crafts, The Newbury Society of Arts and Crafts, Boston. Her biography has been included in Who’s Who of America and Who’s Who of American women.
